"Bill Guttentag's hilarious satire of reality/game show media culture, Live! takes its subject to the wall with a live televised Russian Roulette competition. Presented as a The Making Of story, Live! also attacks the ghoulish opportunism of independent documentaries. "
- Screen Daily
"This frequently funny send-up creates a seemingly plausible arena in which hard-working media execs and show contestants can take moral bankruptcy all the way to the bank."

NANKING
Even in the darkest of times,
there is light.
Synopsis
A powerful, emotional and relevant reminder of the heartbreaking toll war takes on the innocent, Nanking tells the story of the Japanese invasion of Nanking, China, in the early days of World War II. As part of a campaign to conquer all of China, the Japanese subjected Nanking – which was then China’s capital – to months of aerial bombardment, and when the city fell, the Japanese army unleashed murder and rape on a horrifying scale. In the midst of the rampage, a small group of Westerners banded together to establish a Safety Zone where over 200,000 Chinese found refuge.

“An exceptionally well-knit documentary about the horrifying events that took place in Nanking between December, 1937, and March, 1938. It’s very likely that the anguish of a city helplessly besieged by a marauding army hasn’t been conveyed with comparable power since the Greek tragedies that were told from the Trojan point of view.”
– David Denby, The New Yorker
“Nanking’ is a swift, incisive documentary about one of the lesser-known horrors of the 20th century. A few people did what they could to hold the line against humanity’s worst instincts. The voices in ‘Nanking’ speak for the persistence of good in times and places where a moral crevice opens to reveal a vision of hell on earth.”
– Stephen Holden, The New York Times
